The Downs Sisters

Singing Southern Gospel Music

Downs Sisters

Patsy, Evelyn and Sharon are three of seven sisters and one brother.  Although they came from a humble background in East Texas, there was a lot of love in their home.  The local church and music was a great part of their upbringing and some of the sisters began singing in church even before they started to school.

The Downs family attended church at First Assembly of God in Avery, Texas, but later moved to Dekalb and attended First Assembly of God Church there for several years.  The sisters all left home, married and raised their families.  Then in 1998 God began leading them on a road that would be “a dream come true”.  Even though this road meant making sacrifices, they were eager to answer the calling in their lives.

At the age most people are retiring, Patsy, Evelyn and Sharon embarked on a journey that would forever change their lives as well as those around them .  The sisters started out singing locally, but are now traveling out of state to churches, women’s retreats, prisons, and any place that people are hurting and need a song to bring them hope and cheer.

The Sisters sing harmony and their first love is for Southern Gospel Music.  The Sisters are all married and their husbands travel with them and also minister in song, testimony and instrumentals.  The family’s one mission in life is to reflect the love of Jesus and to see the lost saved and to bring healing and restoration to those that are sick and in need.
